Walking down the strip in Las Vegas – Part one

We started the Strip by Circus Circus and walked all the way to Excalibur. This exercise took us a good half day split across the 2 days of our stay, mostly because before 4pm it's too hot to walk around.
Circus Circus is a family casino. Its lobby and casino are located within a circus tent. The atmosphere inside is like a fair, with games and activities for the whole family.

Circus Circus happens to have shows every 20min. We sat down and waited until a Bulgarian artist showed up for some aerial gymnastics. The show lasted 5 minutes max, but what can you expect when it's for free. It was so fast that the people who had brought their McDonald's were still eating it when the show was over. Circus Circus was a disappointment and for sure I don't see myself staying there.
The next casino on the Strip is The Wynn (and Encore). The most luxurious casinos, so they are described. We didn't get in but just by its look and the list of designers in its shopping center, it's surely a luxurious place.

Next in line is Treasure Island, that's where we're staying (29th floor, on the left side of this picture).
We arrived right on time for the Sirens of ti show.
In a nutshell, there is one boat with sirens, i.e. sexy girls dancing and another one with pirates. There is some story with a bit of a battle but it was not very clear. The most interesting part was the dancing of the sirens or the pirates, depending which one your prefer.

And the pirates:

Next in line: The Venetian.

The Venetian is a unique experience on its own. The theme is obviously Venetia and the whole hotel is decorated accordingly: statues, marble, paintings on the wall, etc. All the key highlights of Venetia are there, including the famous canal and bridges. For only 16$ per person one can take a tour in one of the gondolas (or 64$ a gondola).
This makes me wonder whether I would do such a thing or not if I was living in the US with no opportunity to travel to the real Venetia. Would I pay so much money to get a bit of what it is in Venetia? Is a taste of the dream even fake, better than nothing at all?
I also realized one more time how lucky we are in Europe. Within 2-3 hours we can reach some of the most beautiful places in the world.

Of course the hotel has a "Piazza San Marco" with an amazing ceiling. Clouds look so real it feels like they are moving… when it’s just a painting.
After seeing the clock in Prague, I couldn’t resist with the one from The Venetian.
