Karlie - Cat's empire

After months of debate and hesitation we bought a scratching tree for the cats. It was not an easy decision given a decent tree, i.e. high enough, costs minimum 60 euros. The super cool ones that fill up the space between floor and ceiling cost easily more than 100 euros. I guess we feel a bit guilty to leave them behind when we go to California so we're trying to buy their love :)
We went to the biggest Tom&Co (pet store) in the area and settled on Karlie, cat's empire. It's 1.2m high and offer all the standards. They claim on the box that it will fulfill 5 basic needs at the same time!:
- claw care
- district marking
- stress reduction
- cuddle station
- sleeping station
Now to ensure great success of your tree, you should also use Catnip spray. Quid? "Catnip is 100% natural and absolutely harmless for your cat, even after swallowing. The active component is an irresistible scent that causes an amazing reaction. Your cat will play, mew or go into a pleasure "trance"".
In short words, a spray that will attract the cat to the tree. By the way, the spray comes with a disclaimer: "some cats, however, do not react to Catnip". I guess you cannot expect one single product to delight all the cats of this planet.
I tried the spray on one of their other toys and I have to admit, the cats did come to check it out.

Now whether this will be enough to get them to play with the scratching tree, that's another story.
Wolfram quickly assembled the tree...
Doesn't it look good?
... and now we're waiting. It's nap time and the cats are busy sleeping. 4pm is not the time to play but to sleep. Let's see what happens when they wake up.

Catnip is harmless. We have it dried, it's a herb. Chester just loves it. He rolls in it and drools and looks really non-intelligent. Charlie? He couldn't care less about it.
Hope they have fun with the tree!
