Koerperwelten

This afternoon Wolfram and I went to see an exhibition in Brussels (believe it or not it was the 1st time since I moved to Belgium). Koerperwelten is an exhibition of human bodies that have been plasticized so that you can see their anatomy. Bones, muscles, ligaments, organs, etc. everything was there displayed for you to see. It was quite fascinating to see all the inside details of a body. Somehow it reminded me of my Biology classes (quite some time ago I have to admit) and revived my scientific curiosity. The beauty about the process they used to preserve the bodies is that it makes them look like some kind of plastic and thus you forget very fast that the body you're watching is actually real and that someone donated his body.
