On Thursday evening, Fiona took me out for dinner. We went to South Beauty in San Li Tun. South Beauty is the perfect place to go for sophisticated Sichuan. While abroad Chinese food is just Chinese food, here you need to decide whether you want to eat specialties from the north, the south, or the east of China. Each region is very different. In the Sichuan food is spicier than in the rest of the country. So we went for the following dishes: pork with ginger, aubergines with garlic and shrimps with hot pepper and nuts. All of it excellent! A place I recommend (although a bit expensive compare for Beijing standards).
