Daniel and Kammy's wedding - The ceremony

Today is Daniel and Kammy's wedding, the main reason for our trip to Malaysia. Once again a big THANK YOU to Alice for letting me be her "plus one".
The ceremony took place in the hotel where we were staying. Convenient, isn't it.
After a good breakfast we dressed up and join the crowd on the 5th floor. At the entrance of the room we were welcomed by a full size picture of the groom and the bride. In China and most countries of Asia, people do their wedding pictures before the ceremony. They get dressed up, hire a photographer and it's done. This way they avoid the stress and hassle on the D-day.
In the room a stage was set up for the ceremony. Surprisingly on the side was a screen on which would be projected the program, the different texts read and lyrics of the songs, both in Chinese and English. While it had a bit of karaoke feeling, it allowed everybody to sing and the "friends from overseas" to follow.
Once everybody was sited, the master of ceremony invited the groom and the bride to enter and the ceremony started. It's apparently a habit over there to have a master of ceremony, also called MC (or Emcee... when you write it phonetically I guess... we had a good laugh reading how it was spelled). We discovered that the emcee, William Lee, is also a TV host on one of the national TV channels. He was the local star in this wedding. The advantage of having a MC was that he made sure things were happening and even more important, he announced things in both Chinese and English. This way we knew what was happening.

After some reading, the Pastor arrived and proceeded with the ceremony. At this stage, no big surprise, it's pretty much the same as what we are used to.
Prayer:
What a marriage is about...
Exchange of vows:

Exchange of the rings:

"You may kiss the bride"

Lighting of the Unity Candle: each of them takes their candle and ignite the one in the middle. It's representing the transition from 2 individuals to a couple.
Some singing and a speech (that one was not translated so I have no idea what the man said. Whatever he said was with great passion).

And to finish the photography session. Very organized as they order in which people should come was put on the screen. I have to say the whole session was done in 15min thanks to this order. No chaos and very efficient.

As the friends from overseas, we also got our picture :)

That's it for the ceremony part!
It was a very beautiful ceremony overall and believe it or not, even if we couldn't understand what people said exactly, this wedding ceremony was very emotional.
Congratulations Daniel and Kammy!!!!
