Nigi Nigi – First day on the beach

It was around 9am and we reached the reception of the hotel. We checked in but couldn’t get our room as the current guests were still in it. No problem we just asked for a room where we could change clothes and hit the beach.
Nigi Nigi hotel is located on the beach. It’s a collection of bungalows made of wood, surrounded by palm trees. Clearly we were over dressed when we arrived. Dress code: swimming suits, pareos, shorts, etc. as little fabric as possible.
Having been up since 5am and without having breakfast (yes we know it’s bad) we went for food and our first mango juice. The restaurant of the hotel had tables facing the see which of course we picked. Now just to make you jealous, take a look at the view from the table…

Wolfram immediately got his tripod out for the first set of pictures of the beach. Faithful to myself I didn’t bring any tripod and just used the table as support.

Stomachs full we walked the 20 meters separating us from the beach itself and sat down on the long chairs.
To make you even more jealous, here is the beach we’re talking about.

As you can see Wolfram decided to get some well deserved rest. As for me I jumped into the water which was absolutely fantastic. Turquoise blue and nicely warm… I could stay there the whole day.

Later in the day (at that point no more watches, we’re on vacation and time does not matter) we were told the room was ready.
That’s our little terrace in front of the room.

We brought our stuff in there and went for a long walk on the beach. All the way to Willy’s rock, enjoying the view, the sun, the warm water, watching kids playing in the water, nothing special, just vacation!

PS: Monika, it seems pollution is catching up in Boracay and a lot of green algae have appeared in the see. Luckily they’re only on a few meters next to the shore and you can quickly pass through. Sad though that’s such a paradise gets dirty.
