Cultural differences

Last night during the event dinner I was at a table with Russians, Romanians and Nigerians. At some point discussion was about vacations and one Russian told us about climbing Kota Kinabalu (yes, the one I wanted to do when I was in Malaysia but couldn't because there was no accommodation left) and one of the Romania about climbing the Kilimanjaro. Amazing stories as you can imagine.
While the Europeans were all about the adventure they experienced during their vacation, our colleague from Nigeria was puzzled. He nicely summarized it:
"There is a huge difference between Europeans and Africans when it comes to vacation. For us everyday is a adventure and therefore when we go on vacation we want a 5-star resort where we can rest, relax and not worry about anything. Completely the opposite of Europeans who try to get adventures during their vacation."
Once again an example of how things can be different depending on your background, environment, etc.
