On the road again

The trip to Brittany takes around 9 hours, that's plenty of time for many things to happen. For example today:
- I concluded that the Wolfram's Mercedes is all but practical or designed by men for men:
1) no place to put your bottle of drink (how on earth can we have a car without this???)
2) need to reach far down the button to open the window causing you to temporarily loose sight of the road
3)the handle for the blinkers is clearly designed for large hands too bad if you don't have them (like so many women)
4) the pocket on the sun shade is inside vs. outside. Apparently so it looks better... but then it's a bit of a pain to reach your toll ticket easily when you need to open the sun shade, isn't it?

- It is possible for 4 buses of teenagers to stop at a service area, visit the toilet, and be gone in 10min. Unbelievable? Trust me, we couldn't believe it either when we realized the buses were gone. This also explains why they were all running to the toilets. Naively we thought it was because they really needed to go :)

- People on the road are not as polite as they used to be. The 2 lanes were going to be merged in one at some point and for a mysterious reason, 1 km ahead, with the first signs announcing it, all the cars moved to the left lane, leaving the right one completely free. Naturally I decided to use the right lane until the end. Once I arrive at the point to merge nobody wanted to let me in. The principle should be one after the other alternating. I guess given the fact I had "by-passed" everybody according to them and on top I had German license plates I deserved to be punished and not get through... I find it hard to be punished for some one's else stupidity...

- 9 hours is VERY long, especially the last one. It feels like you will never get there but at the same time you are so close that it's hard to have still one hour to go.

- Paying attention is key otherwise you might miss your exit and have to take a detour throughout the country side to catch up with your highway. Believe it or not, but none of us recall the sign showing the exit for Amiens... where were we looking I wonder?
