The definition of Winter in Asia is very broad. As I was getting confused I got back to the definition: meteorological winter is the season having the shortest days and the lowest temperatures. Unlike what you might spontaneously think it does not necessarily mean cold, snow and ice. Just lower temperature.
So given it's winter in the Philippines, it's normal if I have a cold :) and more importantly for Chinese new year end January I might come over and enjoy the beaches instead of staying the icy Beijing.
