We flew from KL to Bintulu and what a welcome!
Daniel is a former colleague of Alice and is what brought us to Malaysia in the first place: he is getting married tomorrow.
Daniel and Kammy (his future wife) were waiting for us at the airport. The very day before their wedding they took the time to pick us up. We are, well Alice is, very special guests. We came all the way from Europe after all. He took us to his place for dinner. After meeting the whole family i.e. all his brothers and sisters and their own families we had dinner. Amazing Malay food. All very good and so nice of them to take such care of us. On exception a pork/mushroom soup that was really disgusting and not only to me. We ate it all of course, 2 full servings. It reminded me of the famous "It's good but I don't like it".
We quickly left the house to reach the hotel as there was still the rehearsal to do. On the way out Daniel gave us a Tupperware with chopped mango inside. Do you know how good mango can be? Alice and I are both big mango fans so we were very very happy. Believe it or not they have a mango tree in the garden. When it's mango season like now they have so many they don't know what to do with them. Can you imagine living in a house with a mango tree? I could very well. Should I move to Malaysia?
After dropping the luggage in the room we joined for the rehearsal. I can tell you it's going to be a great ceremony.
To finish the day we went for a massage. We're having our own spa vacation releasing all the tensed muscle after 1 year back in Europe. Tonight it hurt again but felt so good afterwards.
Now I'm ready to sleep :)
