Conan bought an iPhone when he was in China and for some reasons when he made the upgrade last month the phone was locked. We still don't understand how a simlock free phone can be locked... but that's where we are today.
He entrusted me with his iPhone to take it back to Mobistar in Belgium so they can fix it.
Attempt #1
Strombeek, Saturday, we go to the Mobistar shop. They try a few things, does not work, conclusion: we have to send it back. Of course this shop is an independant franchise which means they cannot ship it back. I need to go to a Mobistar center.
Attempt #2
Yesterday, we left the office early enough, stopped at my place to get the phone, rushed to the Mobistar center on Chaussee d'Ixelles, arrived at 6:35pm only to find it closed. First round of negative feelings about Belgium. What kind of country is that with shops closing at 6:30pm???
Attempt #3
Today, I checked on the internet the address and opening hours (yes I'm learning) of the Mobistar center rue neuve (main shopping street of Brussels). As you can see, it says opened until 7pm (even 7:30pm on Fridays).
We go and of course it's closed. We arrived at 6pm and naturally they close at 6pm. Now how hard is it to put accurate information on the website? not to mention how can the shop located in the main shopping street close so early? Do they want to sell at all?
Sometimes it's hard to believe we are living in the capital of Europe.
PS: yes, right now, I do miss China and its great service, its shops opened late and on Sundays...
PS2: of course tomorrow I will leave the office even earlier to be in the shop on time because I do not want to have to do it on Saturday when the entire country is shopping.
