Hum, where to start? Maybe by the description of it on the Brussels Tourists Information site: "New Year's fire works. Magnificent pyrotechnical show to celebrate the new year! At midnight the sky over Brussels lights up with a multicoloured light show" That was the expectation especially when the press was revealing all the secrets of it.
Now the reality was very disappointing as the sky of Brussels did not light up. There was fog so they couldn't do the fireworks as high as planned meaning it was barely higher than the buildings around the Mont des Arts where it was shot. So unless you were standing right in front of it, there was little chance you could see anything at all. For sure not worse the effort of going out in the coldest New Year's Eve of Belgium in the last 30 years.
