The house if full

Monday: 2 people in the house, my parents
Tuesday: 4 people in the house, with us on top
Friday: 8 people in the house, with Wolfram's parents and Joy and Yann on top
Saturday: we'll be 11 around the table with Alex, Silke and Fabian joining us.
Sunday: we'll be 16 with my aunts and cousins coming over for Easter lunch.
Believe it or not, but there are enough chairs in the house for everyone. We'll just have to keep each other warm by sitting (very) closely to each other at the table.

Let the fight for the bathroom start!

A bit of culture

Tonight during dinner my dad mentioned the story behind the local strawberries: fraises de Plougastel. Curious I searched the Internet to know more about Amede-Francois Frezier. This man brought back from Chile the local strawberry species and introduced to France and Plougastel the "white strawberry". Dear Officer Frezier, I thank you for bringing back those very first strawberries to France and Brittany. Without you we wouldn't have the best strawberries in the world right next door. You can read more here.

Mine, Mine, Mine

Yummy crab...

A little trip to Roscoff

With one day without anything planned, we decided to do a little trip to Roscoff, on the coast, mostly known for the ferry boat to the UK.
Roscoff is a nice place to visit when you have a couple of hours to spend. It's enjoyable to walk the streets of the old town and discover the church Notre-Dame de Croas-Batz.
On the four walls of the church ships have been sculpted, evoking the prosperity of maritime trade, so I read.
Of course, I couldn't miss my favourite motive: a gargoyle!
Tide was low which means we could walk on the sand/rocks and get to see the town from there.

While Wolfram was looking for a crab to take a picture of it, I focused on the rocks.

Some pictures from the harbour, low tide:

And flowers growing between the rocks:

Alone at home

After careful consideration, we agreed with my parents that they can go to the theater tonight and leave us alone at home. We promised to behave so no babysitter would be needed.

Good to go

Today we completed the last step before the townhall. I dragged Wolfram to the notary to get the marriage contract sign. Sadly both France and Belgium are a bit behind in terms of marriage laws and therefore people get a contract done just in case. Because in those modern worlds you never know what can happen. I want to make sure that if one say I open a bed and breakfast and fail miserably, Wolfram won't have to pay for my debts. After this expensive exercise (400 euros!!!!!), we dropped the required attestation to the townhall. We also had a look at the room where it will happen. That's it, we're good to go.

Different perceptions

9 hours in the car
Wolfram will say the trip went easy and smooth, with no traffic and a bit of sun all the way. He might even say it went fast and was positively surprised each time 100km more were completed.
I, on the other hand, was in pain after 15min. I will tell you this trip was long, very long, that I'm happy there was no traffic or it would have been worse, that thinking of the upcoming 600km was nearly killing me.
Clearly the state of mind you are in, defines how you see things. Half full and sunny or half empty and dark.

Now where is the swimming pool to try to rescue what's left of my back?
