Villa Bunia, Canggu
This is where we left for this morning.
Alice, Amelia and Ante arrived last night for what will be the next generation of our vacation in Asia. This time, we have kids so we are renting a villa in Bali, Kuta region and will enjoy the beach, the pool and maybe a few day trips. Very different from what Alice and I used to do during our Asian vacation, but life is different with kids. And we still eat Oreos, the biscuit of our vacation so all is fine.
We woke up early (as tradition dictates) and managed to get everyone in two taxis with all the luggage by 6:10am. Only 10min later vs. schedule which is amazing if you ask me knowing we had a three, a two and one year old with us.
Checkin took long simply because there were many of us and even more pieces of luggage. Apart from that the flight was event less like they should all be. In no time we were in Bali. I will barely mentioned that it took one (long!!!) hour to get the luggage.
By noon we were on the car on the way to the villa where we arrived an hour later after a little nap for the boys.
From there it took the rest of the day to get settled and situate ourselves.
Wolfram managed to first order lunch and later to organize a taxi to go grocery shopping. My husband knows that we cannot operate without Coke in the house :)
All the kids enjoyed the villa and its pool.
It's great to see Oskar and Thomas in the open with a big garden to play in. Amelia is so cute and a great playing buddy for Oskar. Well, as long as they don't take each other's toys.

Monday mornings are difficult for everybody
Monday mornings are difficult for everybody including a 3-year old toddler. For a little over a month now, every Monday morning Oskar does not want to get up, nor eat, nor get dressed, nor go to the toilet, nor put his shoes, nor take the school bus... Anything that indicates going to school and he refuses to do it.
Somehow two days of weekend convince him every week that it is much better than going to school. A couple of weeks ago there was celebration at school on the Monday so kids had to be dressed in red and white. The fact that he was not wearing his uniform was enough to tell him that there was no school that day. I let you imagine the tantrum he made that day when he had to get to the school bus.
Once the routine is back, everything is fine. We just need to power through the Monday morning which sadly happens every week.
At least Thomas is finally better. He does not know Monday mornings yet, so today after a good night of sleep (the first one since Wednesday), he was all smiles.
On the positive side of things, this Monday morning is over. One week break until the next one :)

Counting the days
To help Oskar understand when Wolfram will be back, we put a sticker at the end of each day.
Same for me and Thomas.

Nothing is better than your parents' bed
Thomas is sick. He's got fever since yesterday. Most likely another cold. After a night interrupted with repeated crying, I gave up at 5:30am.
Got him, changed him, checked temperature (39C :( ) and took him to our room for is morning bottle (loaded with ibuprofen). Here is what happened:
Let's hope he gets better soon. I need some sleep too.

Where is Papa?
Oskar asked for Wolfram this morning when he woke up. I told him he was in the plane.
Oskar said: Papa is getting him a crane.
Expectations are set.
Evening addition: it has to be yellow.

Bonjour les éléphants
I know I already took millions of pictures of elephants but what I can I say, they are fascinating. So even in the Singapore zoo and with only one hand as I was carrying Thomas, I couldn't resist.

Cé La Vi
With visitors in town, we wanted to do something special with them. So we took them to a dinner with a view. Our initial plan was to go to the restaurant at the top of the giant trees, but they cancelled on us on Saturday morning. So we went to backup plan, on the other side: we tried Cé La Vi at the top of the Marina Bay Sands.
The view was great although we couldn't really get to the edge of the platform.
The food was amazing. They serve Western Asian fusion food following the Asian way meaning all dishes are brought to the table and place at the center for everyone to eat together.
We picked starters, main courses and deserts and were blown away. We each preferred different ones from each set of four but all had a fantastic dinner.
Let me show you:
The starters with the intriguing stuffed chicken wings:
This was really fantastic. Thank you Wolfram for taking is there!
