Well, it's not the Opera Garnier, but it's better than nothing :)

Ballet under the stars
Tonight we grabbed our picnic for a night of ballet in Fort Caning park. The set up is great, the idea is good to sit in the grass while watching a ballet, the performance was ok. It was Giselle and even to the inexpert eye, one could see some flaws in the synchronization or placement or even balance at landing sometime.

2.1kg
Today we had an appointment with the doctor. She happily shared that I don't have gestational diabetes, which made me very happy and a bit relieved. She highlighted again that suitcase for the maternity should be ready as potentially tadpole could show up any time now. Unlikely so soon, but you never know.
Then she measured our tadpole. Diameter of the head is 9 cm which apparently is good. Not too big. Still, somehow, he will have to make his way out.
She estimated the weight: 2.1kg. She was happy as so far everything is on track. Baby is growing nicely.
Now if you ask me, I didn't really need an ultrasound to tell me that our tadpole is growing. My belly is getting bigger and bigger. I can feel the stretch on the skin every day. I can feel our tadpole moving more and kicking or pushing harder. It's sometimes scary to see the skin of my belly moving (reminds me of Allien...).
And for almost two weeks now I can't see my feet anymore when I look from the top.
Another 8 weeks to go... feels both long and short.

Ice cream workshop
This afternoon, we had an offsite event with some of our colleagues. The invitation was very attractive as it was for a workshop to learn how to make ice cream and all you can eat ice cream afterwards. Needless to say everybody was very motivated to attend.
And the green ice cream...
The workshop started with the theory followed by practice. First we got to make our own ice cream. Obviously I went for the chocolate flavor. The process of making ice cream turned put pretty simple - I guess they made it simple for us - and within 30 minutes we all could try our own ice cream. Mine was ok but no more. I guess it takes a bit more magic and effort to make good ice creams.
Once we master the art of making ice cream we received a bag with a surprise ingredient for us to make an ice cream. My team got avocado and different spices. We tried different combination and ended up mixing the avocado with ginger and hoped for the best. The outcome was unusual (quite green) to say the least. Not ice cream material to my taste but we had good fun trying different mixes.
The best part of the afternoon was the access to the ice cream shop where we could eat anything and as much as we wanted.
See below me and my ice cream.

Birth plan
During the prenatal class this week people mentioned their birth plan. Apparently one should have a birth plan that states all the decisions related to the delivery: type of pain relief, position, who attends, recording, tough choices should they be needed, and plenty more. The idea is to have thought about everything in advance so that on the day itself we know what to do and don't waste time thinking about things. In other words we can focus on the birth and not worry about anything else.
This sounds very smart so after consulting several sources we brought a list of items to be discussed to our doctor's appointment today.
Patiently she listened to all our questions and we discussed the different items. We now have a birth plan and Wolfram knows what is the first thing he needs to ask, once he's done with registration: making sure I get the epidural!
We are still more than two months away so we have still a lot of time to decide about cord blood banking. But apart from that everything else is clarified in our birth plan :)
Happy birthday continued
On Monday I received a package from my parents for my birthday.
On Thursday I received a card from Joy and Yann with a puzzle inside. I quickly did it once I realized there was a hidden message at the back.
Thank you all for thinking of me on my birthday!

Bye bye
I have postponed that moment as long as I could but as I start the third trimester it's now considered dangerous to wear high heels.
According to many I should have given them up already several months ago. I simply refused to let go on my last bit of fashion especially as I was still comfortable wearing them. With all the changes due to the pregnancy, wearing my favorite shoes was the only thing left making me feel myself.
As my belly gets bigger and bigger and Iget clumsier and clumsier (most likely due to the lack of proper sleep), it might be safer to have me in flat shoes.
Dear high heels, it breaks my heart to leave you in the closet. I promise it's only temporary!
I'm counting the days until I can wear you again.

9PM
It's 9pm.
I'm closing the laptop.
I don't have any call tonight.
I'm going to bed!
Assuming Tadpole is not kicking all night long and I won't have to go to the loo more than twice (the frequency for the past month), I might actually get some sleep.
Waking up rested... that's something to dream about...
